Features to know about

Stay Level and Confident Under Load: 5,000-lb Load-Leveling Support

When the bed’s full or a trailer’s hitched up, rear-end sag can throw everything off. Firestone Ride-Rite air helper springs add up to 5,000 lbs of rear axle support between the frame and suspension to keep your truck level and steady under heavy loads. By keeping your ride height even, you maintain braking control, steering response, and proper headlight aim no matter what you’re hauling.

Dial In the Ride You Want: Adjustable from 5 to 100 psi

Every load is different, so the Ride-Rite system lets you fine-tune air pressure from 5 psi up to 100 psi. Add air when you’re towing or carrying weight to level off the truck and improve handling. Drop to the minimum pressure when unloaded for a smoother ride. Each side has its own manual inflation valve for balancing off-center loads, so you can get the stance and comfort just right for your setup.

Smooth Out Rough Roads: Double-Convoluted Air Spring Design

These aren’t just simple rubber bags—they’re double-convoluted springs built with four layers of reinforced rubber and braided wire girdles that boost burst strength. The design cushions the contact between axle and frame to cut down on bounce and bottoming out. You’ll feel fewer jolts from potholes or washboard roads while the springs absorb road shock and soften the ride even under load.

Built Tough for Long-Term Use: Reinforced Rubber and Corrosion-Resistant Hardware

Durability matters when you’re hauling heavy day after day. Each Firestone air spring is secured with corrosion-resistant metal end plates using a rolled crimp seal that keeps everything anchored tight. The complete kit includes custom brackets, hardware, air line, and separate valves for manual inflation—everything needed to bolt in strong load support without drilling or fabrication required.

I have received Ride-Rite, and gone through the box everything seems to be built from high-quality materials. It wouldn't be fair to write an accurate review until I install the Ride-Rite. So until this happens,s I can't say. But I can say is, that two of my friends have the Ride-Rite system on their trucks, and love them, plus having nothing but good things about the system. That why I brought one for myself. Once I put the system on, I will come back and post a full review.

Great system, on 2020 f150 3.5 ecoboost. Eliminates light steering when loaded, levels out load perfectly.
Easy install, no leaks. Love these air bags. etrailer has great pricing, fast shipping and excellent support.

Bad pa winters. Salt. Bad roads. Towing 18k pounds plus. Flawless performance. These air bags also with just a few pounds in them when not towing make a world of difference in handling. Great product! Bought them for my 36 class A motorhome too!

After a year of use It has been a great investment, enabling safe dump trailer hauling of 3.5 tons using my 2015 F150 pickup, *Truck empty without trailer attached i charge each air bladder to 30 psi to ensure a level and stable load once trailer is attached and loaded.*

Still working great very valuable hauling our 30ft travel trailer now, I keep a small manual bicycle tire pump in the truck for whenever I need to adjust the pressure anywhere, easy cheap alternative to onboard compressor.

by:

I have used the Firestone suspension air bags to adjust my 2017 F150 when carrying large cargo box loads. It worked very well for the loads I was carrying, which were between 800 lbs to as much as 1100 lbs on other occasions. My only objection is a slow leak in my left side, which may be in the left air bag itself or tubing fittings. After I installed the system, I used a soap solution to check for leaks. At the time I could not find any. Because it is a slow leak, I simply have had to top off either the left or right side air bags and I am fine to go for the day.

Dont forget to check at the Schrader valve, as well. Those have been known to leak. The soap solution test works great, unless its a very slow leak.

After a year of use I am still very impressed with the reliability and functionality of these bags. The Bluetooth compatibility of the compressor unit which allows the user to increase or decrease pressure via the phone app is great, no wiring to run into the cab, or mounting a control head under the dashboard is fantastic. Run these at 10psi for everyday driving with no noticeable change in the ride of the truck. I only have to air them up to 40psi to stiffen the suspension perfectly when towing my 34’ travel trailer. Would recommend this product within it hesitation!

This is the second set of these I have had. I purchased a new truck and I am not disappointed. Installed the first set my self in an afternoon, also installed the compressor as well and was impressed with the quality of the materials and the fitment. Had this installed by the hot rod shop up the street, who recommended the product when we talked previously. He loves the Bluetooth phone app for the compressor and has started to recommend it to his other customers. Would highly recommend this product and your company to anyone considering the purchase of a like product.

by:

I have owned these for about a year now and they have performed great. I installed them to accommodate the weight of some storage and gear I added in the truck bed. They have performed great and have fixed the issue I had with my headlights aiming to the sky with a load in the back. Adjusting the pressure is not difficult, but I would strongly recommend getting the t-fitting for the air lines to make it a little less tedious.

Installation was pretty easy as long as you pay close attention to the orientation of the brackets. Overall, I am very satisfied with these and wish I had gotten them sooner.

Product appears to be of very high quality and 1 week after installing, it appears to be working as expected. I was able to install the product myself, but only with the help of a neighbor. The ordering process was great, and thank goodness for the video that was linked to the etrailer site. I wish a few things were better: 1. The optional T connector that combines the two air valves should have been more prominently advertised, because I certainly would have gotten it. As is, it's a bit of a pain to try and inflate both sides separately. 2. Firestone should have labeled ALL the parts that were specific to right or left side of the vehicle. Even with the video, it was frustrating to try and decifer which parts went on which side, and the picture orientation in the installation manual was zero help. 3. There HAS to be a better way to attach the frame bolts. Those bendable tabs and long handles and trying to line them up with the upper bracket were ridiculously tedious and time-consuming, and very nearly resulted in me returning the product. Other than that, I am very happy with the product and the competitive price.

Continues to perform as expected. Took me several trips with the trailer to arrive at an optimal inflation for highway speeds, so the manufacturer might be advised to provide some guidance.

by:

Installed this kit on my 2024 Ford F150 the factory springs are soft so i needed to beef up the suspension for towing and carrying heavier loads. Took me about 1.5 to install by my self. Comes with good easy to read instructions with pictures which always helped. I actually watched the etrailer video a couple times and that was the biggest help. A good impact tool was helpful for the installation. I used a T fitting on the airline to keep both sides the same.

by:

Straight forward install. I also watched a few on-line videos which also helped.

by:

Just what I needed for pulling new trailer. Installation not that hard but would have been easier with two people. Just took a little longer.

Great! No issues at all. I add a little air when pulling my travel trailer to keep it level and take a little out when disconnected

by:

Great product installed in a couple hours can’t wait to tow my camper and see how it tows.

by:

Very easy to install and does a fantastic job when pulling my 5th wheel trailer. I like a more firm ride when pulling, so I run 80psi. I have an F150 and can pull my trailers just fine.

Great service from etrailer too. Very knowledgeable.

by:

Works with lift kits, i have 6inch block under spring and was Easy to install and no air leaks so far. I used basic hand tools..14 & 15 mm box wench and 3/8 drive with 14mm & 15 mm deepwell sockets. Took 3 hours, biggest chore was the spring shackle bolts took forever with hand ratchet. Most frustrating part was frame bolt brackets...actually lost one inside frame...i recommend making them with longer handles also marking the upper frame mounts left or right. Would give a 5 but havent had a chance to test under load yet.

by:

Works really well with my heavy travel trailer (9,500 lbs). I was able to pretty much eliminate the sag and when combined with my WDH everything towed very well.
Great kit, easy to install, heavy duty. Only reason for 4 stars is even at 5 lbs they make the ride a little bouncy unloaded. I really suspect it’s because the factory shocks are junk and can’t control the suspension motion well enough but that’s just a guess lol.
Overall- can’t go wrong if you need to haul or tow anything relatively heavy and retain your stability and level stance.

by:

I recently installed the Firestone Ride Rite air helper springs model # 2582 on my 2016 F150 Supercrew 4x4. The install was straight forward. I watched a couple of the etrailer installation videos before I installed the Ride Rites. I found the videos very helpful. I installed the Ride Rites on my truck in my driveway on jack stands. I think it took me about 2 to 3 hours. The driver side took longer to install because the hard brake lines block access to the hole in the frame. It also took me a little while to choose the best route for the air lines. I am going to be installing the Air Lift WirelessOne system very soon to use with the Ride Rites. I am very happy with how the Ride Rite system turned out.

by:

This is my 2nd purchase of this system . 1st time for my 2013 Ford F-150 Limited , easy to install ,instructions were great and they worked awesome for pulling my car trailers and my travel trailer with the bed loaded with firewood and camping equipment. This time I purchased it for my 2019 Ford F-150 Limited. The kit was complete and as before easy to install. I took my time to route the air lines in the frame to hide them and used provided protectors so no chafing . I purchased the tee fitting to conect 2 lines into 1 and used the mounting bracket . I would highly recommend this product to enhance your trucks rear suspension .

by:

To date, no problems, system was easy to install and has performed as expected.

Product continues to perform as expected. Since it has been 1 year since the install, was considering adding a compressor to the system so load adjustments can be made easier

by:

installation instructions were a bit inadequate. torque specs were also not straight forward.

It is all good quality installed easy worked great by itself but had to remove to install fifth wheel system

I installed these in about 2 hours the night before my wife and I were heading out to Sioux Falls, SD with our 30 foot travel trailer. I aired them up to about 38 P.S.I. and away we went. They worked flawlessly. I love them. I only used one air valve to air them up with a T connector.

@WilliamS with that kind of load I'm sure there was a big difference between before and after the airbags. Thanks for the feedback and we appreciate you choosing etrailer!

by:

Installed as described in the Video on a f-150 2019 Lariat, max tow package 4x4. I have not loaded up the bed and towed yet so they are set to 5 psi and are riding fine. I have used the ride rites on other trucks and very happy with them. Now note you need to monitor them when not loaded as the should be kept at 5 psi unloaded.

I also bought the wheel liners and mud flaps. Wheel liners needed to be cut so they would not run on the air bags.

Great, I did tow with my TT, truck was almost at max GVWR. Airbags were set to about 50psi to return factory rate. The ride was very good and controlled

by:

I had a reputable dealer mechanic install this kit per the Firestone manual instructions. Air bag blew out within six months. Firestone denied warranty claiming improper installation. Bags are garbage. Do not waste your money. Go with a different manufacturer as Firestone again doesn’t stand by another one of their products similar to the late 1990’s and their tires.

by:

One need to ask if you have a 5th wheel hitch before you by a kit. I had to send back and get a different kit. Cost me a bunch of money.
