Trailer Wiring Harness For A 1975 Toyota Landcruiser FJ40

I have a 1975 FJ40 Landcruiser.... factory wiring harness. I am looking for the trailer wiring kit CURT 56146KIT which you used to carry. Is there now an equivalent?

Hi William, sweet car!
The Curt 56146KIT was discontinued a number of years ago, but we have you covered. What you are looking for is the Curt Powered Tail Light Converter w/ 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector and Install Kit # C59496 you were looking at.
This is basically the replacement for the 56146KIT and it will get the job done for you. It will be a bit of work, but not too much. It includes all the parts needed to get the install done, including a little tester. That said, I am not a huge fan of the quick splice connector things and highly recommend using the Deka Heat Shrink Butt Connector # DW05744-10 instead. This will give you a few extras, which is never a bad thing, but they will give you a much better connection.
What are you towing with your FJ40? And do you have it stock or have you modified it? My mom had an 86 FJ60 that my brothers and I grew up in and it's always cool to see the older ones! ^___^
