Where Do I Plug In Curt T-Connector C56040 On A 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid?

Updated 03/17/2026 | Published 03/16/2026

Question:

Hello I just installed roof cross bars and a class II hitch from you folks. As usual, good stuff! I want to get the plug and play Curt 4 pole T -connector wiring harness C56040. There are good videos for the 2025 Forrester, but I have the Hybrid and I cant find the rear harness plug! Not the same as the non Hybrid in the videos. Before I buy, HELP! Thanks.

Hey Lawrence, thanks for reaching out. The Curt T-Connector # C56040 is correct for the 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid. The factory harness plug should be in the rear cargo area behind the driver side access panel. If you remove the trunk floor covering and remove the plastic fasteners securing the trays in the center and driver side, the connector should be visible. It'll be a white plug that mates with the T-harness plug. I've included a picture from the instructions that should help point you in the right direction.

Have you looked in this location yet? Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help!

Hey Lawerance, I was concerned about finding the interface plug as well but it was there all along. the harness plugged right in and a couple of zip ties secured it in place. Ive used these hitches and harnesses on several of my personal cars, 2 Toy Highlanders and my 2023 Sub Ascent. Good luck!

My 2025 forester is not a hybrid but etrailer harness installed easier and works perfectly. Directions worked exactly as stated and connections were found as described.
