Shank Dimensions For The Andersen Weight Distribution Hitch AN88VR

Question:

What are the vertical dimensions of the hitch head, from top of ball to bottom of the head? I have a low-slung trailer, and have ground clearance concerns when loading and unloading from Washington state ferries, depending upon ramp angles due to tidal conditions. Also, what are the dimensions of the 4inch and 6inch shanks length from pin hole to shank, height overall? Finally, what is the overall distance from the shank pin hole to the center of the ball head? This affects my tailgate clearance. Also, what are the limitations, if any, of the raised bracket set again, looking for best ground clearance. My trailer is a 10k GTW enclosed car hauler, usually loaded 6-7k depending upon track destination. Tongue weight varies from 600-850 lbs depending upon loading. Tow vehicle is a 2025 F-150

Hi Jason!

I have a diagram attached that shows all the measurements you are requesting. It's a little rough (I'm definitely not an artist), but it should have everything you are needing. If I missed anything, just let me know and I can get that for you.

When in the lowest position, the bottom of the ball head part will be right at 8-1/2" from the bottom inside of the hitch on your vehicle. If you have the shank in the position I have in the diagram, it will be right at an inch below the bottom inside of your hitch. You can mount this whichever way is needed to keep you as level as you can (plus or minus 1-3/4" is still technically level)

I do want to ask though, are you wanting this for sway control or for weight distribution properties?
