Question:

I have this hitch and really like it. However, I recently replaced my tow vehicle and now have a 2.5inch receiver and likely need to replace the rack with one that has more drop, like 6-8. Do the racks for the 2.5inch shank have a thinner channel for the anti-sway assembly? Im trying avoid using the 2.5inch adapter sleeve if possible.

Hey Mike, welcome back! The 2-1/2" shanks have the same channel size as the 2" shank for the Andersen Weight Distribution Hitch so they all work for the same system. We didn't have the 2-1/2" shanks available separately so I went ahead and added them for you. There is a 6" drop/rise and 8" version, you can choose from the following:

-Andersen Replacement Adjustment Shank for 2-1/2" Receiver - 6" Drop/Rise # AN75VR

-Andersen Replacement Adjustment Shank for 2-1/2" Receiver - 8" Drop/Rise # AN85VR

Hey Mike, how did the new 2.5-inch shank work out with your Andersen weight distribution hitch? It’d be great to hear if the 6 or 8-inch drop gave you the setup you needed. Your feedback could help others upgrading to a larger receiver.
