Hi, everyone. Steve here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at our replacement Lippert ABS Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 4,400 pound axles. Folks, you're going to get a 10-inch diameter with a 6 on 5 1/2-inch lug pattern, and it's going to be pre-greased, the bearings, the races, the grease seal, everything is pre-greased, ready to go right out of the box, which is nice. Now you have a kit ready to go, it's easier to find everything. You don't have to worry about getting your hands dirty, theoretically, 'cause the grease is already in there.
You have the cap, the plug, the lug nuts, the pin, the washer and the castle nut. And again, this is that red color which denotes that distinctive appearance, and these tone ring, as some people call it, it's built into the drum itself. These teeth is what the ABS sensor on the other side of your components is going to be reading. So every time these teeth go past that sensor, it's going to know the speed, et cetera, and it's going to apply the brakes, as needed, in those situations. And again, this is a nice kit, comes preassembled, just like you see here.
All the rest of this stuff is in a little baggy. This is Lippert's ABS Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly. Again, these are 1/2-inch studs. It's a 4,400 pound axle that it fits, and it's a 6 lug on 5 1/2-inch bolt pattern. Well, folks, that's going to wrap up our quickly together at this Lippert ABS Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly.

Sent me a used burnt up brake drum
Bearings were not sufficiently greased for my liking. Came with a 2.125 grease seal. Had to replace it with a 2.250 for my axle.
Fast shipping from etrailer. Box was battered and partially open upon arrival but nothing was damaged or missing.

Looks like things are generally okay, but the races were NOT pre-greased prior to dropping the bearing in. This means I need to pull the seals, grease the races, then put in new seals. This is an additional 20 min plus the cost of new seals, just to be able to say these hubs are in condition to mount. I will not give my customers hubs that are under-prepared because I don't want the reputation of having to redo a bearing job.
