Updated 08/12/2026 | Published 08/06/2026

Question:

I have a travel trailer with the Morryde steps with the adjustable foot that you have to pull a pin ,I see the newer ones are a ratcheting type wear you just pull a lever,I was wondering if they made a upgrade kit ,to.change the to the new style foot mechanism

Hey Chris,

No, there isn't a kit to upgrade the legs from your Generation 1 MorRyde StepAbove steps to a Generation 2, like the # MR98RR. There is a replacement leg for the Generation 2, but the holes in the Generation 1 legs are a different size and shape from the Replacement Leg for MORryde StepAbove RV Steps - 2nd Generation # MR36DR so it would not fit. Instead, you can update your current setup to the Generation 2, but you will need to know your entry height and doorway width to get the correct steps for your camper.

Do you just like the style of the Generation 2 StepAbove steps or is something specific driving your need for the change to the push-button steps?

On my Keystone Bullet the door only opens at a 90 degree angle. I took the open and close cylinder and moved the steps as far to the right as could be. I had to take the step lock loose and re adjust it. Over all I am extremely satisfied with the steps and they are so much safer than the factory steps.

@MikeF I haven't heard that before so that's an interesting workaround and I'm glad the steps were able to get you taken care of. What trips do you have coming up with the Keystone Bullet?

@JerryB Jerry, I sent the wrong information to you about the steps. I said that I moved the steps to the right when I actually moved them to the left. Some times when you try to multi-task, it doesn’t work well. We hope to be able to take a couple of trips some where next month.
