Question:
I am switching from Electric Drum Brakes to disc brakes. Do i need to replace the emergency breakaway system for one specifically for Electro-Hydraulic disc brakes?

Hey Blane! No, you don't necessarily need to replace your existing breakaway system when switching from electric drum brakes to electric-over-hydraulic disc brakes. You can reuse it as long as the battery meets the minimum capacity required by your new hydraulic actuator and the breakaway switch is wired correctly.
The DeeMaxx Alpha G1600 actuator included with the # DE24NR requires a breakaway battery with at least 5 Ah of capacity. If your existing battery meets that requirement and is in good condition, you can reuse it. Otherwise, I recommend the Deutsche Hydrapro Breakaway Kit # DH84FR, which includes a 10 Ah battery, charger, and built-in tester.
Where are you headed once you get your new disc brakes installed?
