When using the 65028 on a 2004 chevrolet PU will I be able to retain my original tow hooks or do they have to be discarded.

The tow hooks can stay. The hardware that is used to hold the tow hooks in place will be replaced by the hardware that comes with the front mount hitch. I have included a link to the instructions for you to reference.
