Replacement Regulator for a MB Sturgis 8220a

i am trying to replace the mbstugis model 8220a in my unit . It is horizonal with gas flow left to right so the vent needs to face down i am looking at the jr product 37207 30375 i noticed it has non flare female ends so i need to order the inlet non flare tank coupler. i only have 6,5 inches for the actual unit ant 9 in total from end to end with couplers. i am trying to find the length of the jr regulator that i am looking at. i think it is 5 inches i have the coupler for the hose exit and it sticks out about a inch. so with that what couple for tank do i use one looks longer than the other. i have the original flare fitting for the tank coupler and it is 1.5 in . you have a standard coupler that looks like the length is fine. this unit is 225000 btus and should be way more than enough and why they put a 400000 btu regulator i will never know. the generator is gas. please give me some feedback before i order as the sturgis unit is out of stock and not available thank you

Hey Bill, thanks for the pictures and information! The JR Products Horizontal 2-Stage Propane Regulator item # 37207-30375 measures 6" long without the fitting and 8-1/4" long with the fitting. This regulator is also a flow left to right style with the vent on the bottom.
The JR Products Horizontal Low Pressure 2-Stage RV LP Gas Regulator item # 37207-30385 you were looking at measures 6" long. It's the item # 37207-30375 without the POL fitting.
The JR Products Horizontal 2-Stage Propane Regulator item # 37207-30375 will work great as a replacement for your MB Sturgis 8220a. It's got a pretty massive 225,000 BTU per hour so you won't have to cut back on anything.
If you need a 1/4" Male NPT fitting you can use the item # MBS77FR or you can reuse the one attached to your MB Sturgis 8220a. You will need to use Thread Sealant Tape for Gas Lines item # 37207-30025 when installing the fittings.

This item was perfect for the replacement of the 8220a sturgis regulator. It fit and the length was perfect I hooked it up and no leaked and the gas stove fired right up. With sturgis out of stock on all regulators this is the right replacement. Thanks for your help
