The best option is to use a 30 amp surge protector like the Camco RV Power Defender Circuit Analyzer Dogbone # CAM55312, but if you really wanted to use the 50 amp surge protector # SU99SR you'll just need to use the:

-Mighty Cord RV Power Cord Adapter - 30 Amp Female to 50 Amp Male # A10-5030FBK with the Mighty Cord RV Power Cord Adapter Plug - 50 Amp Female to 30 Amp Male - Round # A10-3050AVP.

The reason you'd want to not use a 50-amp surge protector with your 30-amp trailer is because the surge protector will only work if the current exceeds 50-amps, meaning if you have a short somewhere and your panel is only rated for 30-amps, it won't be able to handle it.
