Have a 1978 sylverado C30, 8foot bed. Buying a 8 foot truck camper and need a tie down kit for a Palomino SS1200 light weight camper.

Congrats on your new truck camper Dan! For a set of tie downs that fit your 1978 Chevy C30 truck, I recommend the Brophy Stake Pocket Mounted Camper Tie-Downs item # TDSF. These are universal tie-downs that are designed specifically for older trucks. They install in your C30's four stake pockets on top of the bed rails.
The Tie-Downs item # TDSF have removable spacers that will allow you to get the best fit in your truck stake pockets. These tie-downs are designed to install permanently with included installation hardware.
Please note that installing the Tie-Downs item # TDSF does require some drilling. I have linked an installation video we made below so you can see how to get them set up.
You'll also need the Brophy Basic Turnbuckles w/ Hardware item # TDHP. These will secure your Palomino camper to the Tie-Downs item # TDSF and provide a stable reliable connection. You won't have to worry about your camper moving around inside the bed.

Dan- I used the suggested tie downs. The only problem I had was with the instructions was this: For the hex bolts that go from the top through the bed rail, it says to use an 11/32 bit. The bolts provided are only 5/16. 11/32 is bigger than the hole in the brackets for these bolts, and you have to go through that hole to get to your bed rail. A 5/16 bit worked just fine, and was more readily available at my local hardware store. Other than that, they worked just fine for our camper, a 1985 9' on a 1970 F250. Have fun!
