Keep your RV comfortable after long drives, sunny afternoons, and warm-weather camping days. This 15,500 Btu unit connects to your existing Advent Air R32 system to deliver stronger, more consistent cooling throughout the cabin.
After a long drive or a full day parked in the sun, your RV can hold heat in the roof, walls, and furniture, well into the evening. This 15,500 Btu rooftop AC delivers 430 CFM of airflow to help bring cabin temperatures down and keep cooled air moving through your compatible Advent Air setup.
If the rooftop AC is the part that needs replacing, you may not need to change the entire interior setup. This unit replaces the outside air conditioner and connects to compatible Advent Air R32 air distribution boxes and controls. The 6-pin plug helps link the rooftop unit to your existing compatible system without rewiring the whole AC setup.
This replacement unit is made for compatible AC systems that use R32 refrigerant. That matters because older systems and newer R32 setups do not always use the same controls, wiring, or interior components. Before installing, confirm that your current air distribution box and controls are compatible with this R32 rooftop unit.
A rooftop AC replacement needs a good seal where the unit meets the roof. The thick, collapsible gasket helps block rain and hot outside air from entering around the opening, while six foam pads help cushion the unit and reduce vibration at the mounting point. That helps the AC sit securely while keeping the cabin drier and quieter.
Replacing a rooftop AC is easier when the unit is designed to connect to the system already in place. This AC uses a bolt-on installation and includes the wiring harness needed for compatible setups. The UV-resistant hard plastic cover protects the internal components and can be removed for maintenance and cleaning when the unit needs attention. Some camping setups ask more from your AC than others, especially when you are running on generator or campsite power. The optional start capacitor (ACMSCKIT) can be added to help the compressor start more reliably. This upgrade is not included, but it gives you a way to build out the system for the way you camp.

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Advent Air Black 15,500 BTU RV Air Conditioner. So, this 15,500 BTU RV AC is designed to cool down your camper or motor home quickly and efficiently. And this is gonna be a solid upgrade if your current unit isn't keeping up. Or it could be a great option if you're adding an AC for the first time.
So, this is specifically made for RVs like your motor homes, travel trailers, and fifth wheels. However, this has not been designed nor intended for use on things like school buses, food trucks, utility trailers or off-road vehicles, because typically those type of roofs are not designed or built to support an air conditioner on top. So, a 13,500 BTU unit would be ideal for smaller RVs in moderate climates. It's gonna handle those normal conditions without overloading your system. But this is a 15,500 BTU unit, so this is gonna be better for your larger RVs in hotter climates or heavy sun exposure.
It's gonna cool down faster and it's gonna keep up in that extreme heat. Before we go any further, let me give you a closeup here and give you some measurements just so you have a good idea of the size. So, looking at the overall length from end to end, we're sitting pretty close to 32 inches long. And then, the overall width at right about the widest point here, about 26 1/4 inches. And then the overall height anywhere from about 13 1/2 to 14 inches tall.
So, you're gonna be able to use this with ducted or ductless system. You're only getting the air conditioner here with thiS. So, you are going to need other components like an air distribution box and a thermostat. And those items are going to have to be compatible with the R-32 refrigerant. That's what this unit uses.
That new R-32 refrigerant complies with the new EPA regulations that took effect in 2025. And that refrigerant is gonna be more efficient and environmentally friendly compared to the older R-410A systems. So, because of that new refrigerant, this is not going to be backwards compatible with any components that do not use the R-32 refrigerant. So, basically anything pre 2025. So, if your thermostat in your air distribution box are older, you will need to replace those as well to work with this AC. The good news is we do carry complete systems here at etrailer, so you can pick up the type of air distribution box that's gonna work for you. Whether manual or thermostat control or ducted or ductless, what have you. You can find the system that's gonna work best for you and have everything that you need, and everything will work together, especially with that new R-32 refrigerant. Now, performance wise, you're gonna get consistent cooling throughout the space. This also includes thick gaskets with foam pads that are gonna sit between your AC and the roof of your RV. So, that's gonna help prevent leaks and air gaps. It's also gonna cut down on noise and vibration while you're going down the road and while the AC is running. And the outer cover is made of durable black plastic. We do also have this same unit available in white. But this cover is gonna do a great job of protecting the internal components from weather and debris. And if you ever need to remove this, it's held in place by Phillips head screws. So, you just remove those screws, remove this cover, do whatever cleaning or what have you, you need to do. Replace the cover and the screws and you're good to go. This does include a wiring harness that's going to come down from the front here out of the bottom and run through your roof. Speaking of roof openings, this is going to fit your standard 14 1/4 by 14 1/4 inch roof openings, and it's going to work with thicknesses between 2 1/2 and 5 inches thick. So, this will not include any hardware. Again, the bolts typically come with the air distribution box that's gonna work, so you're not gonna get any hardware with this. Installation should be pretty straightforward though once you get everything that you need. But if you need help with installation, on this product page, typically underneath the photo section, we have a link that will take you to our installer locator. Click that link and answer the questions that it has for you and that locator will find an installer in your area that etrailer has partnered with to install this for you. Well again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
