Features to know about

Cooling That Helps the Cabin Recover

Advent Air AC Unit

After a long drive or a full day parked in the sun, your RV can hold heat in the roof, walls, and furniture, well into the evening. This 13,500 Btu rooftop AC delivers 430 CFM of airflow to help bring cabin temperatures down and keep cooled air moving through your compatible Advent Air setup.

Replaces the Rooftop Unit Only

Advent Air 6-Pin Connector

If the rooftop AC is the part that needs replacing, you may not need to change the entire interior setup. This unit replaces the outside air conditioner and connects to compatible Advent Air R32 air distribution boxes and controls. The 6-pin plug helps link the rooftop unit to your existing compatible system without rewiring the whole AC setup.

Designed for Updated R32 Systems

This replacement unit is made for compatible AC systems that use R32 refrigerant. That matters because older systems and newer R32 setups do not always use the same controls, wiring, or interior components. Before installing, confirm that your current air distribution box and controls are compatible with this R32 rooftop unit.

Seals and Cushions the Roof Opening

Advent Air Foam Pads

A rooftop AC replacement needs a good seal where the unit meets the roof. The thick, collapsible gasket helps block rain and hot outside air from entering around the opening, while six foam pads help cushion the unit and reduce vibration at the mounting point. That helps the AC sit securely while keeping the cabin drier and quieter.

Easier Installation and Maintenance

Replacing a rooftop AC is easier when the unit is designed to connect to the system already in place. This AC uses a bolt-on installation and includes the wiring harness needed for compatible setups. The UV-resistant hard plastic cover protects the internal components and can be removed for maintenance and cleaning when the unit needs attention. If you'd like help installing your air conditioner, check out our Installer Locator to find an installer near you.

Optional Upgrade for Easier Startup

Some camping setups ask more from your AC than others, especially when you are running on generator or campsite power. The optional start capacitor (ACMSCKIT) can be added to help the compressor start more reliably. This upgrade is not included, but it gives you a way to build out the system for the way you camp.

Video Transcript for Review of Advent Air RV Air Conditioners - White 13500 Btu RV AC - ADV44QR

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Advent Air White 13,500 BTU RV Air Conditioner. Now this 13,500 BTU RV AC is designed to cool down your camper or motor home quickly and efficiently. So this is gonna be a solid upgrade for you if, let's say, your current AC isn't keeping up or it's gonna be a great option if you're adding an AC for the first time. So again, this is gonna be made specifically for your RVs, your motor homes, your travel trailers, and 5th wheels.

But I do wanna let you know that this one has not been designed for things like school buses, food trucks, or utility trailers or off-road vehicles. Typically the roofs on those type of vehicles or trailers are not reinforced enough to handle a unit on top of those vehicles or trailers. So again, this is a 13,500 BTU unit. So this is gonna be ideal for let's say smaller RVs and in moderate climates. It's gonna handle normal conditions without overloading your system.

A 15,500 BTU unit that you can also get this in, those are gonna be better for your larger RVs in hotter climates or heavy sun exposure. It's going to cool faster and keep up in extreme heat. Before we go any further, let's go over some measurements. So the overall length here from end to end, I got roughly 32 inches long. The overall width here at the widest point, about 26 and 1/4 inches wide.

Then the height's gonna be roughly 13 and 1/2 inches tall. You're gonna be able to use this unit in either a ducted or ductless system. Of course, that's going to depend on the type of system you currently have in your RV or your travel trailer. This is just going to be the AC only, so you will have to make sure that you have the compatible air distribution box and thermostat as well. And we do sell those complete kits, whether it's gonna be for your ducted or ductless system.

So this uses the new R32 refrigerant. That's gonna comply with the new EPA regulations that took effect in 2025. That refrigerant is more efficient and environmentally friendly compared to the older R410A systems. But because of the new refrigerant, this is not going to be backwards compatible. So this isn't going to plug and play with pre-2025 systems as differences in wiring and controls typically require matching components for proper operation. So you will have to make sure that your thermostat, your air distribution box and other components that are tied into the AC are all going to be compliant and work with the new R32 refrigerant because this will not be backwards compatible with anything before the R32 refrigerant. Performance wise, you're gonna get consistent cooling throughout the space and this includes a thick gasket and foam pads that are going to sit between the AC and your roof. And on your screen there, I'm popping up a picture of the bottom of this AC unit just showing you those gaskets and pads there. So those do a couple of things. It helps seal everything up to prevent water leaks and air gaps. It's also gonna cut down on noise and vibration while it's running. Our cover here is made from durable plastic. That's gonna protect the internal components from weather and debris. It's going to be able to be easily removed as well. It's held in place by Phillips head screws, so if you ever need to take this off for whatever reason, cleaning it or maintenance or whatever, just remove the screws, pop the shroud off, and then when you're done, you can pop the shroud back on, replace the screws and you'll be good to go. But it's a nice cover. As you notice, it does have kind of this dark gray accent here. Kind of gives it a more modern look. It does include the wiring harness you probably saw before I hit the wrong button. And there it is again. So it's a six pin connector. This comes through the bottom front of the AC unit and it'll run through the opening in your roof, and then you'll plug that into your air distribution box. Installation is gonna be pretty straightforward. This is gonna bolt onto your roof. Again, this does not include any hardware though, so the bolts that are needed to mount this into place usually come with that air distribution box. This is going to fit standard RV roof openings of 14 and 1/4 by 14 and 1/4 inches. And it's gonna work with roof thicknesses from about two and 1/2 inches to five inches thick. So if you are looking for a complete kit, whether it's for the 155K or the 135K AC unit, we do have those available here at etrailer. Again, you'll just need to choose the kit that's gonna work either with your ducted or ductless system. It'll come with the appropriate air distribution box and thermostat and other components that you might need. But again, this will just be for the AC only. One final note, if you need help with installation, on this product page underneath the photo section, we have a link that will take you to our Installer Locator. Click that link and answer the questions that it has for you and that locator will find an installer in your area that etrailer has partnered with to do the installation for you. That's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.

It installed in the same place as the old Colman and installed fairly easy. However the “direct” replacement as advertised is not entirely true. The air delivery box will not work. The control and thermostat will not work so I ordered more parts from here and I’m still waiting on it to arrive to see if I wasted my $800 or not. So far not real good feeling about it.
by:
The unit was supposed to be plug and play compatible with the dometic controller. That is why the 4 star review. The plug had female pins instead of male pins. Other than that the unit performed as expected.
by:
Very easy to place order. Showed up as told it would.

The part has been great. Easy to Install. I may have missed it in the write up but it wasn't a direct fit as it needed a 9 pin to 6 pin adapter harness for my RV. Fortunately, my mobile mechanic had one in his truck so we didn't have to make on. I believe etrailer sells it for around $50.
by:
This was a direct replacement for my 2013 Dometic AC unit right down to the 6 pin plug and the mounting bolts. It hooked up to the existing control unit without issue and runs all speeds.
by:
As of 5/24/26 @ 15:00 hrs central time the Advent ACM135B is installed and fully operational, cooling the bedroom of my rv perfectly.
Product arrived in excellent condition with no defects. Installation was as expected. Did rent a material lift from Home Depot which made the trip to the roof much easier and safe for this old man of 75yrs.
Thank you for the ease of ordering and your contact to let me know status of my order.

You're very welcome William, I'm delighted we could help!!!

First one made it in quick but I was slightly disappointed when my electrician wired it in and the fan motor didn't work. That disappointment faded as soon as I called customer support. Not only were they polite and helpful, they shipped the replacement before receiving my return which meant I didn't have a gaping hole in my roof to keep covered long. New one works perfectly. Couldn't be happier with the customer service I received. Will definitely be a returning customer.

Just got back from Las Vegas, NV air conditioner ran amazing. No issues, just nice and cold to freezing in my palomino backpack camper! Temperature outside was about 102-106 this weekend, September 11th 2026.
by:
You all did great...the price for everything was affordable and I liked the free shipping. This AC unit blows the cooler air a lot better than the original one.
by:
The units work as they should but the best part of everything was dealing with NikkiR in customer service she is amazing, very on point and relatable she was inquisitive about our situation and very helpful, absolutely stand behind Etrailer have made multiple purchases with them and the customer service with Nikki was by far the best I have ever had

If you really have NO experience with rooftop units, maybe you should go with a complete kit (including the control box/thermostat). If you have "some idea" of what you are doing, you can figure it out. This unit comes with a six pin plug that feeds the fan and compressor. Nothing more. Not even a wiring schematic. Not a big deal if you know how to connect things up. But if you don't, yea, go for the whole kit. We installed this on a 2005 31' Jamboree motorhome. I had to clip the connector off and connect it the old fashioned way (head scratchin' and wire nuts). I also used the control box original to our RV (more connector cutting, etc.). Still, it took only a couple hours to install. It looks great, works great, and (the most important part) the wife is happy. Our old, original unit still worked but was pulling about 27 amps - way too high. I think the power problems we had at an RV park a year ago (very low voltage) killed the compressor (low voltage = lots more heat). This one is pulling about 13 amps. Oh, you really should get some help getting it to the roof. I don't have any friends so I did it myself (sucked!). But it can be done. Just be really careful, take your time, think it through, and stretch those muscles before you get under it. Hopefully, you have a friend or two who can help. Ok. I'm off to take a nap in the cool air.
by:
As I stated after my last purchase of a Advent AC. The six pin plug at the end of the umbilical cord does not engage with existing control boxes force a rewire of the cord using the old 6 pin connector. I'm thinking of using another brand and distributor in the future
by:
This is my fourth Advent unit I have purchased recently. The units themselves function well and customers are very happy but, on every unit, the six pin connector would not fully engage with the existing control box. Could not adjust the pins in the connector so is was forced to rewire unit using the old unit harness. I am considering going in another direction in the future.
by:
Works good install, and didn’t notice that it was bent where the compressor and the fan motor mounts to the base plate had to Try straightening it the best I could the fan would not turn at all once I straighten it out better it is working
by:
Well I already told you the unit was damaged in transit, I did repair it by myself, it was dented in next to the compressor area, subframe metal was dented, plus the units wiring harness was identical to the receiver end of the existing on the rv wiring box, in other words, the prongs weren't received into each other, since they were the same, so even tho I may have ruined my warranty by cutting the end off the unit and wire nutting the old one in its place, but it works, could just fine, the old unit was 19 years old, everything is still the same on the unit, it was light weight, and cools just fine
by:
Easy to install but need a new thermostat setup to be compatible with r32 freon

Very fast shipping have not hook unit up looking forward to it.Very well built unit and good value Thank You
by:
A/C worked well. Hopefully it will outlast the Coleman A/Cs (2) that only lasted 6 years each. I was able to install it and have it up and running the same day it was delivered. Thanks Much!
by:
Needed a male connector off of the air conditioner was a female connector of the air conditioner had to swap off old air conditioner
by:
Works great, direct replacement.
by:
Bought an Advent for a direct replacement for my living room a/c last year. Bedroom a/c went out this year. Have had great success with the replacement from last year. Easy plug and play installation.
by:
The unit has never worked right. It doesn't ever shut off. I have always had my A/C set on auto so when it reaches too hot, it will come on and when it cools to a set temperature, it cuts the unit off. This unit will not do it. I have to go and turn the breaker on to turn the unit on and then go and turn the breaker off to shut the unit off otherwise it will run none stop.
by:
The only problem was that the Connection was wrong. It should’ve been male instead of female. It would be nice to maybe put a gender bender connector in the box. Otherwise everything worked perfect. Just a suggestion thank you.
by:
Easy to install, you just need a male to male 6 pin converter to attach to old Dometic controllers.
Other than that, excellent.
And as a bonus, it's quieter than the old Dometic I had.

  • What Interior Air Distribution Box Do I Need for the R32 Advent Air AC # ADV44QR?
Good morning Pat! It sounds like you're looking for the interior air distribution box for your Advent Air # ADV44QR. We have a couple of options depending on your RV's setup. For a non-ducted system where air blows directly into the RV, I'd recommend # ADV48SR, which has built-in controls. If your RV has ceiling ducts, we have # ADV24QR, which includes a wall-mounted thermostat. You won't need anything else to use this AC unit! Does your RV have ceiling ducts throughout, or does the...

  • Is the Advent RV Air Conditioner # ADV44QR a Direct Replacement for a Dometic Brisk Air II?
Hi Robby, Your Dometic b57915.711c0 Brisk Air II was made before 2025 it has the old R410a refrigerant in it. Due to a new law, there was a refrigerant change at the beginning of 2025 from R410a to R32. The R32 refrigerant requires more safety measures to reduce heat, so all the air conditioners produced in 2025 and later were rewired and are not backwards compatible with any air conditioner made before 2025. The Advent Air RV 13.5K part # ADV44QR you were looking at will not be compatible...
