After a long drive or a full day in the sun, this 15,500 Btu system cools your RV without long, uneven cooldown cycles. It fits larger trailers and RV interiors where higher cooling capacity keeps temperatures from lingering.
When the roof air quits keeping up, interior temperatures stay high long after sunset. This unit puts out 15,500 BTU with 500 cubic feet per minute of airflow, giving you the capacity to pull temperatures down in larger RV interiors while keeping air circulating.
Roof units can add vibration, outside air leaks, and water intrusion around the opening. A thick, collapsible gasket with foam pads supports the unit at the roof, seals the opening against water seepage and air leaks, and cuts vibration at the mounting point, so the AC keeps running while the cabin stays drier and quieter.
Cold air doesn't help if it stays in one spot. This system uses a wall-mounted thermostat with an LED digital display to control the mode, fan, and temperature settings for a single zone.
Rooftop AC swaps get messy fast when sealing and maintenance turn into separate jobs. This unit uses a bolt on installation, includes a wiring harness, and comes with a hard plastic cover that can be removed for maintenance and cleaning, so you can get the system mounted, wired, and back in service with fewer steps.

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Advent Air, Black 15,500 BTU single zone RV air conditioner system. So this 15,500 BTU RV AC is designed to cool down your camper or motorhome quickly and efficiently. So it's gonna be a pretty solid upgrade if your current system isn't currently keeping up. This is specifically made for RVs like your motorhomes, travel trailers, and fifth wheels. However, this is not intended for things like school buses, food trucks, utility trailers, or off-road vehicles because typically, those types of roofs are not designed with the support needed for a rooftop AC.
So this is a 15,500 BTU unit, as I've said a few times already. This is gonna be better for your larger RVs and hotter climates or dealing with heavy sun exposure. It's gonna cool down faster and keep up in extreme heat. We also have this system available in a 13,500 BTU option. That's gonna be ideal for your smaller RVs and in moderate climates and it's gonna handle normal conditions without overloading your system.
So let's talk some measurements here before we go any further. Of the unit itself, looking at the length from front to back, about 32 inches long. And then turning this here at about the widest point, we're gonna be sitting pretty close to 26 1/4 inches wide and the height's gonna be about 13.5 to 14 inches tall. The unit itself weighs a little under 70 pounds. Now, this does use the new R32 refrigerant.
That's gonna comply with the new EPA regulations that took effect in 2025. This refrigerant is going to be more efficient and environmentally friendly compared to the older R410A systems. Now, because of that new refrigerant, this is not going to be backwards compatible, so this won't plug and play with pre-2025 systems as difference in wiring and controls typically require matching components for proper operation. That's why it's great that you're looking at this kit because the air conditioner, the air distribution box and the thermostat are all designed to work together with that new R32 refrigerant. So you're not gonna have any compatibility issues in that way.
This outer cover is made of a durable black plastic that's going to protect the internal components from weather, water, debris, things like that. And if for whatever reason you need to remove this to do some cleaning or maintenance, it's gonna be very simple. It's held in place by Phillips head screws, so you just remove those screws, the cover will pop off. And then when you're ready to put this back on, you'll just slide this back on, replace the screws, and you'll be good to go. Now, this is designed to fit standard roof openings of 14 1/4 by 14 1/4 inches. And this is going to work with roof thicknesses from 2.5 inches to 5 inches thick. Now, let me give you a closer view of this side of my table here, just to talk a little bit about the components here that are gonna come with this system. This air distribution box is going to be the interior control and airflow center. This is going to be what actually directs the cool air into your camper and let you control everything in regards to the airflow. This is designed to work with your ducted RV and basically it's an RV that has the ducts installed already from the factory. And this also comes with this wall-mounted thermostat. Let me see if I can bring this up a little bit closer here for you to see. And so this is gonna give you a nice, clear LED display and you're gonna be able to easily adjust the temperature, fan speed, and mode, all without messing with the unit itself. So you're not gonna have to worry about controls on the air distribution box itself. This will come with a thermostat that you can mount to a convenient location on your wall inside of your camper. In terms of airflow, this is designed to cool your space down very efficiently. Now, I kind of cable-tied everything together here just to kind of keep it a little bit more manageable on my table. So I just kind of wanted to give you a view of the other side here. Of course, you have your control box here and this is just going to pop into your ceiling and I just kind of wanted to show you what this is gonna look like hanging down from your ceiling. This is gonna come down about 1 7/8 inches or so from the ceiling. So it's not gonna take up a whole lot of head space, but this is really gonna do a great job of moving that air around in your camper or RV. You're gonna be able to close these vents if you wanted to push the air a little more forcefully through the ducts in your camper. And the design is pretty practical too. As I mentioned, it does kind of have like a low-profile design, a slightly curved, so it doesn't hang down as much from the ceiling. So again, I think this is gonna give you just a little bit more headroom. It has a removable air filter, which is gonna make it easy to clean and help keep the dust from building up. So the wall-mounted thermostat is going to be easy to mount, it's gonna be easy to operate, and it's going to be just a practical way to control everything from a very convenient spot. You are also going to get the hardware here to bolt everything into place. Giving you some measurements of our air distribution box, looking at the width and the length, we're sitting right about 20 inches. The thermostat's gonna be about three inches by three inches and about 7/8 of an inch deep. But installation's gonna be pretty straightforward. It's designed to fit standard RV ceiling openings and if you are looking for help with installation, we do have you covered. On this product page, typically underneath the photo section, we have a link that will take you to our installer locator. If you click that link and answer the questions that it has for you, that locator will find an installer in your area that etrailer has partnered with to do the installation for you. Now, we do, as I mentioned, have this available in a lower BTU, the 13,500 option. We also have this system available with a white cover rather than black, if that will go better with your RV. That's gonna wrap up our look today. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
