Can I Use the MORryde CRE4000 to Lift My Trailer?

I have a 2025 FR Salem 36FL, it sits low and I drag the rear often, causing compounded damage every time. I dont want to buy new leaf springs. Will the MoRyde 4000 give me some lift? If so, roughly how much? Does the kit come with all the hangers? Thank you!

Hi Bill,

The MORryde AllTrek 4000 Equalizer part # MR29DR is not intended to raise the height of your camper, it would offer little to no lift. The 4" of suspension travel listed on the product page is in reference to how much the suspension can move up and won to absorb any bumps in the road.

Instead, to lift your trailer I suggest using an over-under conversion kit to "raise" the axles by moving your leaf springs over the axle and give you more clearance. The Dexter Over-Under Conversion Kit for 3" Axles part # K71-385-00 is made for 3" round axles with double eye leaf springs and has all the hardware to relocate your leaf springs above your axle. This will help to raise the trailer about 4.5" to 5" from the ground. Your 2025 Forest River Salem 36FL has tandem 7K axles that should measure 3" diameter but double check that measurement to be sure. If they are 2 3/8" in diameter, you'll need to use the Dexter Over-Under Conversion Kit part # K71-384-00 instead.

We have a basement large enough for 2 folding bikes (non electric). I don't see or feel the trailer sagging in the rear (or dropping at the pin). I guess my question now would be: can I use the over/under to gain some lift and still use the equalizer upgrade for what it is intended? Better axle travel always helps and any shock absorption is better than the (seemingly) metal on metal I have now.

@BillB You can still switch to an upgraded equalizer even with the Dexter over-under kit installed. However, we'll need to choose an equalizer upgrade based off the dimensions of your current equalizer to get one that fits with your suspension. Choosing an equalizer that is too large or small with throw off the angle of the shackles and leaf springs and will affect the ride. If you can measure the current equalizer and tell me the width from center bolt hole to center bolt hole and the distance from on side's center bolt hole to the top hanger bolt hole, I can compare those to the upgraded equalizers to find one that fits those dimensions.

@Ralph Yep! The AllTrek 4000 is especially great for bumpy roads since it has so much room for the suspension to travel up and down on rough terrain. What equalizers do you use on your trailer?

@Ralph Making the switch to a higher rated system was a good call. The GVWR of your camper is about 8K and weight distribution hitches work the best when the tongue weight of the camper falls in the middle of what the hitch is rated for. Equal-i-zer makes fantastic WDH as well!

It was the best investment we ever made, a much better pulling experience. Our rig is 43Ft 16 plus weight. I wish I had done it sooner.
