Best Timbren Axle-Less Suspension and Wheel Recommendation for a Lightweight Hunting Trailer

Hello I’m looking at the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension - Standard Duty - No - 4 Bolt Flange - 2,000 lbs Im building a light weight trailer for hunting. What is the best option for hubs. I was wanting to use adapters for 5x150mm to have the same lug pattern as my truck Will using an adapter like 5x4 1/2 to 5x150mm be to much for the timbres spindles. It would be an 18” wheel 265/75/18. Also is this the model timbres half axle you would recommend I don’t see ever putting more than 1000 pounds in the trailer.

Hi Ulysses, that sounds like an awesome hunting trailer project.
For a trailer that will weigh around 1,000 pounds loaded, the Timbren Axle Less Trailer Suspension, Part # ASR2000S02, is the right choice. I recommend pairing it with the Easy Grease Trailer Idler Hub Assembly, Part # AKIHUB-545-35-G-EZ-K. I do not recommend using a 5 on 4 1/2 to 5 on 150 mm wheel adapter. Wheel adapters move the wheel farther away from the hub, which increases the load placed on the spindle and bearings. Combined with a larger, heavier truck wheel and tire, that is not a setup I would recommend.
I also would not use an 18 inch wheel with the ASR2000S02. This suspension is intended for smaller trailer wheels, so I recommend sticking with a 14 inch trailer wheel and tire combination like the Goodyear Endurance ST205/75R14 mounted on the Eagle Aluminum Wheel, Part # GY57QB. It will provide excellent performance while staying within the design limits of the suspension.
If matching your truck's 18 inch wheels is a must, then I recommend stepping up to the Timbren Axle Less Trailer Suspension Heavy Duty Long Spindle, Part # T74CR. That is the Timbren system designed to accommodate larger wheel and tire combinations like the 265/75R18 you mentioned. Even though it is more suspension than your trailer needs from a weight capacity standpoint, it is the right choice for safely running that size wheel and tire.
