Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Lock 'N' Roll Articulating Hitch with the Five Position Channel Mount for 2" by 2" Trailer Hitches. Now this channel mount hitch links with a Lock 'N' Roll trailer side coupler to hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle. This shank of the channel bracket slides into the hitch on your vehicle, secures with the hitch pin and clip, or hitch lock. Those items are sold separately and available at etrailer.com. And then the head unit provides the attachment point for the trailer side coupler. Now this does offer a more secure connection than a standard, or traditional ball coupler.
The vehicle side latching plates interlock with a trailer side coupler to form a strong connection, so there's no more worries about the coupler popping off the ball. Also, it features an articulating design, which softens road shock and is great for off roading. I do have a trailer side coupler here today, and I want to show you how the two work together. Now if you don't have a trailer side couple already, we do offer them at etrailer.com. Basically it has these nibs or punches that come out and engage in the indentions of the vehicle side coupler. Once that's engaged the latch plates come over.
Pin holes line up at the bottom, and secure with the included pin and clip, so the clip just goes on the other side here. Now, it's a really nice, easy to use design. Again, I want to focus on the articulating, or the pivoting action of the unit. There's a bearing in the head assembly that allows for 360 degrees of rotation. What I mean by that is if you watch the connection point right here where the trailer's connected to the vehicle, as the vehicle rotates side to side, or goes over uneven terrain, this does not affect at all the connection point here between the trailer and the vehicle. A really nice design.
And then also when it's paired together we have full articulation when paired with a trailer and coupler because this set up pivots the side to side movement, as well as the up and down movement without really changing anything here at the connection point between the vehicle and the trailer, so you'd remove it.You need to undo the pin and clip. I just didn't install the clip for demonstration purposes, but you always want to make sure you install the clip. Latch plates slide out of the way, and then you can disconnect. Now, the channel bracket, which is this portion here. This lets you adjust the height of the hitch to match different trailers.
You can raise or lower the hitch and bolt into the channel to change the height. Mounting bolts and lock nuts are included. Also, when it's connected to the trailer coupler we have a tight interlock connection, which creates a smooth quieter ride, especially when compared to a pintle hitch. The close fit connection, again, it really reduces rattle, noise, and jerking motion. Also with this system, it's fast and easy when it comes to hooking up and disconnecting. You have a wide range of motion, which makes it easy to connect and disconnect the inaudible 00:02:58 angle. The attachment hardware is included, again, for securing the latch plate in the closed position. We're looking at a durable steel alloy construction with a black painted finish to help it resist rust and corrosion. It meets SAEJ684 towing, or towing safety regulations.Again, it is designed for a 2" by 2" receiver. The maximum gross trailer weight capacity is 11,000 pounds. Maximum tongue weight capacity is 1,100 pounds. When it comes to the dimension of the channel, top to bottom is 11 3/4" tall, outer edge to outer edge is 3 11/16" wide. Inner edge to inner edge is around 3", and then our adjustment holds are separated on center by 2" centers. Also, from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the adjustment holes we're looking at about 8 1/4" from the center of the hitch pin hole out to the center of the indention point here, which is where the connection takes place between the trailer and the vehicle. This measures around 15", 14 7/8", right in that area. The product is made in the USA. It is covered with a limited lifetime warranty. That's gonna do it for today's look at the Lock 'N' Roll Articulating Hitch with the Five Position Channel for 2" Hitches.
