I have a 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Sahara and I need to get it ready to flat tow behind our RV. Can you advise on what I need to purchase so I can do the install

Hey Christopher, the best base plate kit to use with your 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe would be the Roadmaster Direct Connect part # RM-521453-5 we had the chance to install on a 4xe just like yours. This is a very easy to use base plate kit.

In addition to the base plates, you will also need a compatible tow bar, safety cables, lighting, and supplemental braking to flat tow your vehicle. The most popular compatible tow bar is the Falcon 3HD, # RM27NQ. This has non-binding arms which makes the setup very easy to connect/disconnect.

For lighting/safety cables, locks, and covers for the tow bar we have the Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain kit part # RM-9243-1 which comes with all of that as one part number. The diode kit that comes with this allows you to splice into the taillight wiring so that your RV controls the vehicle taillights and does not require drilling into the taillight housings. This comes with a round 6-way connector that you will install on the front of your towed vehicle and enough coiled wire to go from there to the RV.

And finally, most states now require supplemental braking in the vehicle being flat towed. The easiest system to set up and use is the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR, that applies the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the tow vehicle is braking. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.

Christopher , I purchased the direct connect Roadmaster System and the accessory kit a little over 2 years ago so I could pull my Jeep Gladiator behind my Class C motorhome. I have the Roadmaster Night Hawk tow bar attached to my motorhome . I was all prepared to do the install myself, however I have a cousin who owns a shop and offered to do it for me . The Roadmaster System is absolutely fantastic. i used to pull a 2 door Wrangler using a different tow system and although it did the job it had a surge braking system and the tow bar was difficult to disconnect if I was not on a very flat surface and no pressure was on the base plate. The Roadmaster System does not have that issue . The tension release handles on the tow bar allow you to disconnect with ease every time . Also connecting to the base plate on the Gladiator is incredibly quick and easy. The LED lights on the Night Hawk tow Bar are added safety. I will not ever use another tow system.. I HIGHLY recommend the Roadmaster package in any configuration. Also the folks at E Trailer were incredibly helpful when i bought the system . They answered every question I had and made all the right recommendations fort my set up without ever putting pressure on me to buy. Best of luck and Safe Travels !

I purchased the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Baseplate Kit about a year ago for my 2020 Jeep Wrangler, Rubicon. I elected to have the system installed by a local RV shop. Everything works and looks great! I particularly like the fact that I can remove the arms when not being used. I would suggest ordering the stoppers to prevent mud and dirt from getting in the opening after being removed. I used the NSA Ready Brute Elite II Tow Bar for my Class A… everything works great! Whatever you decide, have fun.
