Hey William, thanks for reaching out. For carrying a mobility scooter with your 2020 Subaru Forester, I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e83ZR. This has a standard 2" receiver which will work with virtually any scooter carrier. plus it has a 525 lb tongue weight capacity which covers really any scooter and carrier combination - even more heavy-duty scooters.

As far as a carrier for the scooter, what I recommend is the Erickson Aluminum Mobility / Cargo Carrier # EM34JV. It's very lightweight - only about 62 lbs, plus it has a built in ramp for loading and unloading. It can carry scooters weightin up to 400 lbs too. You'll just want to make sure your scooter will fit on the 50" long x 30" wide platform and you'll be good to go.
