The Erickson Manufacturing EM34JV is sturdy, the right size and light weight for the application. Similar steel products are much heavier. The one draw back is it lacks sufficient eye shoulder bolt attachment points for ratchet straps. Only 2 are indicated in the instructions and are not in a convenient location. Kim in support was very helpful and referred me to Erickson Mfg directly for answers. In speaking to Erickson Mfg, they said only 2 points are provided. If you add you own ratchet strap attachment points, you void the 90 warranty. While sympathetic to the problem, but reiterated, if you modify the product, you void the warranty and it no longer meets the manufacturer’s specifications.

The platform arrived with only slight damage (just a ding in one of the rails) and a slight manufacturing error. The reflectors were installed on the wrong side (the front vs the rear) of the platform. Not a big deal, I’ll place reflective warning tape across the back.

I tried out the loading ramp which worked perfectly, and I especially liked the threaded retaining pin because it totally locked the platform to the receiver and eliminates movement and noise. 5/5 stars for this platform!

WE do not have anything that is a 60x60 so this is going to be the biggest option we have. It has a 400lb capacity on it which should work well for scooters.     Hi Lisa, what do you plan on carrying? The 350 lbs for the Highlander is pretty standard for a Class III hitch and also the tongue weight capacity of many SUV's. You could make this work with a lighter carrier like the # EM34JV. This is 30-1/4" Wide x 50" Long so fairly comparable to the Reese.
