Question:

Hello to you! We have a 2013 Forest River Salem Lite 356QBQ and need to replace the AC unit that is no longer cooling. We do not know the size needed for replacement. Can you please tell us what fits our rig? Thank you!

Hello Lynda! I checked online and it looks like your 2013 Forest River Salem Lite 356QBQ comes from the factory with a ducted 13,500 btu AC system. I could not find what specific brand or model you have. If you're just trying to replace the air conditioner itself, the Furrion item # FR82PV you were looking at is only going to work if you currently have a Coleman AC system.

The EPA mandated a refrigerant change at the beginning of 2025, which made your AC system incompatible with anything that has come out since then. We have a few specific AC units that will work with older refrigerant systems but not many because they're not making them anymore.

If you do not have a Coleman AC system, I recommend the Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System item # FR52TD in black or item # FR95TD in white. These have the new R32 refrigerant in them so they are more efficient. These systems come with a new 13,500 btu AC and a air distribution box with manual controls.

If you're system currently has a thermostat, you'll want the Furrion Chill HE item # FR35TD in white or item # FR25TD in black. These systems also come with a 13,500 btu ac, an air distribution box without controls, and a thermostat that will replace your current one.

I replaced 2 old AC with this model, they were VERY easy to install. On 1 model I bypassed the old thermostat andmooted fir the add in controller on the unit.

Here’s what I know & have experienced twice , with using E-trailer for Rv A/c replacement! Give them all the data on what’s there & you will get what will plug & play! One I mysel installed & my second one with a newer trailer was done by a register RV HVAC specialist & he was equally surprised & pleased!! To the point he discounted his estimate to install! Jared’s Cree help guide me to get the right data as well!!
