What is Best RV AC Unit for Lance Camper with Ductless Roof

Updated 11/17/2025 | Published 10/24/2025

Question:

Ive not heard this addressed at all. I am wanting to replace my single, non-ducted Coleman Mach a/c with an a FR59TD. I have a 2021 Lance 2375 trailer. The problem is the unit is located right at the entrance to the hallway going to the front bedroom. All my living space is to the rear of the a/c. The air in the FR59TD is dispersed to the front and downwards. It seems like it will take some time to even feel the effects of the cooler air in the rear until after the front of the RV is cooled down. Once cooled down, it may maintain the temperature but walking into a hot RV will be hot for awhile. What say you?

Hey Ed, the Furrion Chill Cube RV Air Conditioner w Air Distribution Box # FR59TD is by far one of the most effective RV AC units out there that blows the coldest and has the highest BTU rating at 18k. What that means for you is that even though the vent may blow in a direction you don't prefer it will still cool down the RV faster than any other options. This also has a turbo mode that was designed for cooling down a hot RV as quick as possible so it would work really well for you. So more so than the direction of the air that it will be blowing it's the sheer volume of the colder air that will make the difference.

Hey Ed, how did the Furrion Chill Cube work out in your Lance trailer? Did the turbo mode help cool the rear living area as quickly as you hoped? Your experience could guide others thinking about the same upgrade.

@JamesonC Thank you for follow-up. I am still not convinced of your answer for my situation. I have not made a purchase yet. Also, your prices keep going up and other options are becoming available.

@Ed price increases are annoying for sure. At one point we were having a hard time getting these in stock so I'd assume it had something to do with that.
