Replacement Furrion AC for 2014 Keystone Montana 3750FL With Dometic AC

Updated 08/12/2025 | Published 07/31/2025

Question:

I have a 2014 keystone Montana 3750 FL with a dometic brisk2 15000 and a dometic 13500 and a furnace controlled by one dometic multi zone thermostat. I need to replace the dometic 15000, and would like to install a Furrion , either a 15000 btu or 18000 btu. Do I need an adapter to be able to plug and play so all modes will still function on the dometic multi zone thermostat???

Hey Steve! You can definitely replace your old Dometic AC unit with the Furrion. However, you will need to replace the ADB as well. Everything has moved to the new R32 refrigerant which requires complete replacement. Plug and play isn't an option since these aren't backwards compatible with old R410A parts.

Since you already have the other Dometic hooked up to that thermostat, and you probably don't want an additional wall thermostat, I recommend the Furrion Chill Cube. The Chill Cube will work independently via the remote. You won't have the multi-zone but you have the mobility and simplicity of the remote so they will work well together. You can choose from the following based on ducted/ductless and color:

-Furrion Chill Cube RV Air Conditioner w Air Distribution Box - Ductless - 18,000 Btu - Black # FR27TD

-Furrion Chill Cube RV Air Conditioner w Air Distribution Box - Ductless - 18,000 Btu - White # FR59TD

-Furrion Chill Cube RV Air Conditioner w Air Distribution Box - Ducted - 18,000 Btu - Black # FR39TD

-Furrion Chill Cube RV Air Conditioner w Air Distribution Box - Ducted - 18,000 Btu - White # FR99TD

Any big trips planned with your Montana before the end of summer?

Robin , so if I unplug the wires plugged into the Dometic and secure it in the ceiling and install Furrion with remote ducted , my dometic multi zone will still operate my 2nd 13.5 unit and the furnace ?

@SteveB yes, the two systems will work independently. Depending on the thermostat model you may get a message saying that zone is not connected but it will still operate the one that is.
