Question:
Why difference between Curt C47HR and EcoHitch 306-739 tongue weight ratings, they look the same?

Great question Jeff, they do look very similar but there are some differences.
The EcoHitch Hidden hitch # 306-X7391 has a tongue weight rating of 525 lbs and the Curt hitch # C47HR has a tongue weight rating of 350 lbs. The EcoHitch uses additional reinforcement around the receiver tube attachment area and a heavier-duty receiver design, which allows it to achieve the higher rating.
That said, both are excellent hitches. If your intended use is a standard bike rack, cargo carrier, or light trailer within the Curt TW rating then it's more than adequate. The EcoHitch is the best choice if you'll be carrying heavier accessories or using an extension of any type.
What do you plan to carry; small trailer, cargo carrier, or bikes?
