Hi - I was looking for a concealed trailer hitch for my 2021 Forester Premium on your site, and I found the EcoHitch 306-X7391 and the Curt C47HR. I was wondering how the installation of either affects the factory Subaru warranty, and if either interferes with designed crumple zones or other crash-specific safety features of the car?

Installing either the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C47HR or EcoHitch # 306-X7391 will not void the warranty of your 2021 Subaru Forester Premium as you are protected by the Federal Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act which states that unless the aftermarket part installed causes the problem, they must still honor your warranty.

Both of these hitches replace the factory bumper impact structure, and were both built and tested to provide the safety and support of the factory structure.

Between these two options I recommend the # 306-X7391 as it has a higher tongue weight rating at 525lbs compared to the # C47HR which has a 350lb tongue weight rating.

If you are planning on towing a trailer with your Forester you will also need a vehicle wiring harness # HM11143865.
