Will Thule Easyfold XT Fit Class I Hitch

Updated 05/05/2026 | Published 04/28/2026

Question:

Would this also work on a class 1 hitch like all newer Thule's that are similar?

Hey John, yes the Thule EasyFold XT bike rack part # TH903202 is compatible with Class I 1-1/4 inch hitches. This is actually the only e-bike rack that was designed to fit that hitch size. What kind of e-bikes do you have?

I have this bike rake on my Chevy Spark carrying 2 Lectric 3.0 bikes with no problems. Easy to put on car &fast setting up bikes on the rack. I carry the bikes without the batteries. Bikes weigh 57 lbs without battery.

We have 2 Velotric Ebikes – Breeze 1, class 3. The bikes weigh 45 lbs. with the batteries in. We have a 2012 Subaru with an allowed tongue weight of 200 Lbs. Our hitch is an aftermarket add on and is 1 ¼”. Rack will be useable with whatever replacement car that we get. We have found the bike rack to be easy to install, hitch attachment lock is easy and secure. It is easy to load bikes with the included ramp. However it is a challenge with 2 bikes to avoid peddle and handlebar interference. Once you figure it out mounting is easy. Clamp attachment is secure, easy to do. Lock is by key. We leave batteries on the bikes. We mount bikes facing opposite directions and wheel straps are easy to use and add security for attachment. Since the bikes obscure the car license plate, we made a paper copy of our plate and mounted it on aluminum and covered it with plastic. This is mounted to the rack in the plate holder.
