Do I Need a Hitch Adapter To Use the Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack?
Updated 05/23/2026 | Published 05/19/2026 >
Question:
I am considering the Thule EasyFoldXT bike rack for my 2 ebikes weighing 65lbs and 53lbs. I have two vehicles. One with a 2 hitch and one with a 1.25 hitch. Would the rack work using your 2 to 1.25 reducer part e63YR for the vehicle with the 2 hitch?

Hi Anthony,
The Thule EasyFold XT bike rack part # TH903202 actually has a built-in adapter so you can adapt the bike rack from a 1 1/4" to a 2" hitch! It is secured to the rack with two screws using an Allen wrench that is included with the rack and can be taken on or off depending on which vehicle's hitch you're using. I've included a photo of it below, so you can see what it looks like.
The Thule EasyFold XT bike rack is designed for carrying two e-bikes and has a 65lb weight capacity per bike. The rack itself weighs 45lbs, so it can handle 175lbs max. You'll want to make sure that the tongue weight for both hitches is high enough to handle the rack and weight of the bikes to avoid any damage to the vehicle, rack, or bikes.
Where are you planning on taking your e-bikes riding?

Thanks for getting back to me. Exactly the information I needed. Ordered the rack. Looking forward to using it. eTrailer has been great to work with over the past 20 years.
