Question:
I am looking for an upgraded equalizer for my toy hauler. The wheel base is 33 inches. The stock equalizer is from shackle mount to mount roughly 53/4 inches and from hanger to shackle bolt holes is roughly 2 inches. Thanks

Hey Brian, thanks for reaching out, and thanks for providing those equalizer dimensions, it really helps. We do have a great upgraded equalizer option for you. I recommend the following:
- Dexter E-Z Flex Suspension Kit - Double-Eye Springs - Tandem Axle - 6,000 lbs # K71-652-00
This equalizer measures 5-3/4" long and 2" tall so it'll be a direct match for the current setup. This kit also comes with HD shackles, bronze bushings and wet bolts. The shackles are 2-1/4" long on center so please check the current shackles and make sure this matches. If so, this will be a great suspension upgrade for you. The equalizer will do a great job absorbing road shock, and the wet bolts really help smooth out the suspension and quiet things down.
What is the length of your stock shackles?
What do you usually haul with your toy hauler?

I installed kits on our tandem axle Cherokee 255RR 5th wheel toy hauler almost a year ago, when we discovered the factory parts were failing. Simple & straightforward to install, using the existing springs, and we've been very pleased. The thick shackle plates are a great upgrade all by themselves, and the wet bolts with bronze bushings are way better than the chintzy plastic sleeves from the factory. The E-Z Flex equalizers are the icing on the cake. Trailer feels noticeably smoother pulling, and now all the parts are greaseable like they should be. The next RV(s) we buy will get this upgrade done before the first trip. I think it's the best bang for the buck of any suspension upgrade - highly recommend (just check that your equalizer measurements match).
