Benefit of Internal TPMS System Vs. Cap Sensors

Hi, Im looking at a TPMS System for a customer for their 40 fifth wheel RV. Is there a major benefit between the internally mounted sensors and the screw on type? With the screw on style do i need to install different valve stems? Thanks, Joe Herlihy Golden RV Mobile Repair

Hey Joe! Internal sensors typically last longer, are shielded from the elements, and will get a slightly more accurate reading. They also provide protection against theft if that is a concern. The down side is you have to remove the tire to mount them.
Cap sensors like the Tire Linc Pro TPMS # LC67VC (2 sensors), # LC77VC (4 sensors), and # LC87VC (6 sensors) are easy to install and replace, and often have replaceable batteries. These don't require different valve stems. I think a lot of people prefer this style since they can easily access them if there is a problem.
If you have the heavier pass-through sensors so you can inflate them without removing the cap, it typically requires a metal valve stem.

It is a 338 RLK Cougar. I think I would like to get the flow-thru style screw on sensors for them. Do you have a link to those options and also for the metal valve stems? Thanks again, Joe.
