Question:

Good morning. Does the BWRVK3775 fifth wheel hitch attach to the OEM puck system and is the hitch removable? Thanks.

Hi Clarence!

The B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider for Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package - Dual Jaw - 20K # BWRVK3775 will indeed attach to those pucks in a 2025 GMC Sierra 3500 short bed. The latches on the sides of the hitch will basically snap it into place and you are good to go.

It is also completely removeable, but it's heavy (250 pounds for the base and 70 pounds for the head). If you will be taking it out with any kind of regularity, I highly recommend also grabbing the # BWRVXA3130 lifting device as well. This can be hooked to a winch or cherry picker/engine hoist to make the whole process a lot easier.

What kind of 5th wheel are you going to be towing?

I have a 2025 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD pickup with a standard bed (vice: long bed). The B&W slider hitch fits into the puck system just fine. I had a friend help me get the base of the hitch (less the hitch head) into the back of my truck and yes, it just drops into the puck slots. Just follow the install on-line video and you will have no trouble. I've towed my 12K+ 5th wheel with this hitch and you hardly know it is there, no 'chucking' or swaying. I've fulled up and down 8-10 percent grades without any trouble. I can make pretty good turns with it and have yet to need to use the slider, but it's there if the occasion warrants. It really is a very fine towing device.

@DennisD I agree and I do have the same Silverado as you and also have the additional towing package with the one ton rear springs. I did add airbags to level out the ride. I have to say I wished I had the gooseneck package on my 5th wheel instead so I could use the pickup bed. And also like you have not used the slider function and still wonder if I should have gone with the smaller B&W hitch but when you need the slider at least I have one.
