Will Curt T-Connector C59236 Work On 2026 Chevy Equinox EV LT1?
Updated 03/04/2026 | Published 03/01/2026 >
Question:
Hi Can you confirm that the C59236 works with a 2026 Equinox EV LT1 without the trailering provision? Ive had two dealers tell me that there are no wiring kits available and a third said this one works, so Im a bit nervous about purchasing it. Also can you tell me if you know anyone in the Portland ME area that has experience installing this in a 2026 equinox ev lt1? Thanks, Hannah

Hey Hannah, thanks for reaching out. Yes, the Curt # C59236 will indeed work on a 2026 Chevy Equinox EV LT1 without the tow package. This is a universal hardwire harness that can be used on most vehicles. There are no custom plug-in harnesses for the 2026 Equinox, so that might have been what those shops you talked to were referring to. The # C59236 universal harness will work just fine though.
As far as installers, we do have a few in your area. For near your zip code, I suggest checking with B&B Auto and RV in Farmington. They have experience with that kind of thing.
I have included the link to our installer locator for you below. Enter your zip code and you can see the full list.
What kind of trailer will you be pulling?

I used this system on a 2016 Lincoln MKX and it is working fine. You do need to use someone that has experience removing car panels and bumpers to get to the tail light connections. In my case that was me but I grew up working on cars. The only help I needed was someone to help hold one side of the heavy hitch frame while I installed the mounting bolts. The e-trailer install video is worth watching!

Will it cause any issues due to the lighting/brake cables being networked? Thanks! Hannah
