Will Installing a Wiring Harness Void My Vehicle Warranty?

Updated 09/08/2025 | Published 04/27/2025

Question:

Good Morning, I was interested in buying the four pole flat connector for a 2024 Frontier Pro4x model. Part Number: 118525 Two questions that I had: - Do we have to unplug the negative terminal on the battery before beginning this install? - Do you know if this affects the factory warranty in anyway? Since its not the OEM 4/7 pin combination. Vehicle only has 10k miles and I would like to add the light bar for safety. I love this option that you provide. But, had concern regarding factory warranty. Hope youre able to assist! Thank you!

Hello Libin, thanks for reaching out. The Tekonsha # 118525 is the correct wiring harness for your 2024 Nissan Frontier.

It is recommended to disconnect the battery before you install.

Installing the wring harness will not void your warranty in any way. We get this question a lot. You are protected under the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act which states that manufactures cannot void the warranty of a vehicle simply because of an after-market part unless that part caused the issue.

It is quite common for people to use aftermarket wiring harnesses and I have never heard of any warranty issues coming up. Especially with a custom harness like the # 118525.

I hope this helps. Please leave a reply and let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.

I got a 2025nissan frontier s model I see on some of the video that the harness that goes in the passenger side has 3 relays and some have 2 relays which is the right one to use and some people don't have running flights could this be the problem

@Dan Yes a missing relay would definitely explain the running lights not working.
