Will 100 Amp WFCO Converter Charge Be Good For 400AH Lithium Battery Bank In Fifth Wheel Camper?

Question:

I have a 400Ah lithium bank in my fifth wheel. Is the WF56FR too much?

Good morning Rob, that’s actually where the # WF56FR ( WF-68100-AD) 100A RV converter charger makes the most sense.

With a 400Ah lithium bank, you can actually utilize the higher output during the lithium charge mode, which boosts to 14.6V for up to 1–4 hours depending on battery state

Just make sure:
-You have a 20A AC circuit available (some travel trailers use 15A which would need to be upgraded to 20A)
-Your DC wiring is 3 gauge or thicker (from charger to battery)
-The run from converter to batteries is as short as possible

For large lithium setups, the 100A isn’t overkill - it’s more efficient and won't get overworked / maxed out.

Are you charging mainly off generator or shore power?

Oh okay cool. So when it's full, it won't burn up the battery bank and overcharge it?

@Rob No sir, it will not do that. The charger will shut off when batteries are full and it has a lithium auto-detect so you don't have to switch settings or anything.

@AndrewN If I don't have a 20A circuit and it's actually 15A like you said it may be, what do I do?

@Rob So if you checked your electrical 120v outlet and the breaker says 15A, you'd need to upgrade it to 20A (cheap at local hardware store) and then run a heavier gauge wire to the 120v outlet if you don't already have at 12 gauge or thicker.
