Question:

HI kEVIN: AFTER READING THRU THE MANUAL. i DO NOT SEE ANY ANY REFERENCE TO THE TRANSFER SWITCH. IS IT BUILT INTO THE UNIT, SO NO SEPARATE WIRING IS INVOLVED?? AND i ASSUME THAT YOU STILL NEED AN MPPT CONTROLLER TO WIRE INPUT FROM SOLAR PANELS TO THE BATTERY FOR CHCHARGING RHE BATTERIS FROM THE SOLAR PANELS. IS THE CORRECT?? THANKS

The Progressive Dynamics Pure Sine Wave Inverter w/ Transfer Switch - Remote - 2,000 Watts - 12V # PD64FR has an internal transfer switch so you will not have to wire one to it separately. The integrated transfer switch selects the primary source of 120V AC current. This switch has been pre-wired to automatically change from inverter to shore power to conserve battery life. It includes a 20-amp leg rated at 135V. Additionally, since the switch only accepts one active source, it protects your electrical system from dangerous backfeed that can damage your equipment. As for solar power charging your batteries, you would need some sort of charge controller which would depend on the brand of your solar equipment and would need to be rated for the amperage output of the panels to safely charge your batteries. These two systems would not be linked together but would just meet at the battery terminals (pictured below).
