Recommended MORryde GooseTech to Replace a Rhino Box on a 2026 Grand Design Solitude 370DV

Updated 03/05/2026 | Published 02/22/2026

Question:

We have a GMC HD3500 Standard bed with factory puck system and have ordered a 2026 Grand Design Solitude 370DV which comes with the Moryde Independent Suspension. Because of the independent suspension, the rig comes with a 19,000 GVWR even though it has a UVW of 13,800. We would not anticipate ever having a loaded weight of over 17K. Several questions: - What would be the right GooseTech Pin Box for us? Could we get by with the MR87MV rated for up to 18K? - Have you heard how the clearance is with the GooseTech on a 2026 Solitude with a GMC standard bed with puck system? Thanks!

Hey Stan, congrats on the new trailer. I checked with Grand Design and it looks like your Solitude 370DV has a Rhino pin box. To upgrade it to a MORryde GooseTech you'll need item # MR24MV. The next closest option capacity wise is item # MR74MV which tops out at 14,000 lbs.

None of the part numbers you referenced will replace a Rhino Pin Box.

You will also need the Safety Chain with 2 Hooks item # GY49GR. Safety chains are required for gooseneck connections and they are not included with the pin boxes. These will attach to that cross looking cutout by the MORryde logo.

None of the gooseneck 5th wheel adapters like the MORryde GooseTech item # MR24MV help with turning clearance. They're comparable in size to a standard pin box.

What year is your Sierra 3500? We have some offset gooseneck balls that fit the GM factory puck systems that'll help with turning.

You can add this information, along with any other questions you have, where it says Add Comment.

@StanR You're welcome! Since your 2025 Sierra 2500 has the factory puck system, you can use the Curt Multi-Fit Ball Kit item # C68ZV. This gooseneck adapter will drop right down into your factory pucks and push your gooseneck ball 4" closer to your tailgate. It's the only way to help with turning clearance on a gooseneck pin box.
