Question:
I have a 2013 Smart Car with a Dimco stay in play duo system. On the front of the car I have a six way female plug receptacle for hooking it to the motorhome. When we’re not towing the Smart Car, can I hook a trickle charger to a six way male plug and plug it into the car to keep the car charged while parked in a garage. I also have the Demco DM66VR charge line already installed. THX, Larry

Hey Larry, that's a pretty creative idea! Yes you could use the 6-way on the front of your towed vehicle as a way to charge it when parked. Instead of the charger connecting to the battery directly it would just being doing so through 6-way and the # DM66VR which would provide the same connection. Do you have a 6-way adapter figured out for the charger already?

Thank you for the reply! I plan to use a good quality 6 way male trailer plug and a 2 wire 14AWG SAE pigtail for the quick disconnect from the charger. After a function check I will fill the inside of the 6 way plug with silicone for a water tight and stable connection. The charge cable part DM66BR is connected directly to the positive battery post. I think this will be the simplest and cleanest way to complete this project. Larry
