Expert Reply:
The wires on the Reverse Lockout Solenoid Kit # DM5836 are for the ground and the reverse light circuit. It does not matter which wire you use for the two connections, it will work either way. If you take a look at the installation video below starting at the 8 minute mark you can see exactly how this is done.
