Will Hopkins Quick-Lock Diode Prevent Backfeed Towing 2024 Ford Bronco Raptor

Updated 02/10/2026 | Published 01/23/2026

Question:

I am going to be flat towing a 2024 Ford Bronco Raptor with a 2023 Berkshire 45E XLT. I plan on using two Curt products 52202 flat tow brake system and 58992 custom towed vehicle harness. My concern is back feeding to my RV when the Curt brake system presses on the brake pedal. I want to verify the Hopkins Diode will eliminate any back feed.

Hi James; yes, you can use the Hopkins Quick-Lock Diode # HM56306 to stop backfeed. However, I encourage you to use a different wiring setup. The Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-15267 is going to be the best and most reliable option for your 2024 Bronco Raptor. It does require splicing, but it isn't as difficult as it seems.

Also, this comes with a 6-way connector, and the 7-Way to 6-Way Coiled Adapter Cord. You will want a charge line on there so you don't get to your destination and find your battery is dead from the Curt RVi Series 4 Portable Flat Tow Brake System # RVI44FR. The 4-way on the Curt wiring harness won't allow for a charge line, so you will have to swap it out for a 6-way regardless. Then you can add the Curt RVi Series Towed Battery Charger+ for Flat Towing # RVI74FR.

What trip is first on your list with the Berkshire and Bronco?

Hey James, how did the wiring setup go with your Bronco Raptor and Berkshire? Did the Roadmaster diode kit and charge line give you the results you were hoping for? Your update could make it easier for others planning a similar flat tow setup.
