Question:

I am looking for a roller and bracket for my bed extender to make loading my fishing kayak into my pickup truck bed smoother. What do you reccomend?

Hi John; that all depends on where you are mounting it and potentially the truck bed extender you have. I would say something like the CE Smith Spool Roller Assembly # CE32100G you looked at is a pretty universal option that would work well as long as you have a good spot to mount the bracket.

The mounting holes are 3" apart on center so if you were trying to mount it on something like the # FHG89ZR you could probably pick up some U-bolts locally and put a few rollers on the main beam to avoid an drilling. Might have to cut the bolts down to make sure you have clearance for the roller bolt ends/nuts sitting under it. You could also run bolts down through the bracket to another bracket to clamp it on. If you can't find something pre-made it would be simple enough to make your own with a metal strip by drilling a couple holes.

Hey John, how did the roller setup for your bed extender work out with your fishing kayak? Your results could really help others trying to make loading their gear smoother.
