E-Bike Rack Recommendation for Rear of Travel Trailer

Updated 11/13/2025 | Published 11/08/2025

Question:

Why can’t I use this on my travel trailer. It has a factory installed 2 inch receiver rated for 300 pounds? Confused!

Hey Frank, this is a great question. So at the rear of a travel trailer there is a much rougher ride quality than a vehicle due to the much harsher suspension and the longer distance from the rear axle to the rear of the vehicle. This is why the Hollywood Racks bike rack you mentioned wouldn't work. But we do have the Lets Go Aero V-Lectric VFR Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes # LGA25VR which is rated for that rougher ride quality and would work great. What travel trailer do you have?

@Frank Nice! How do you like it! What did you think of the Lets go Aero bike rack?

Too pricey! Why are some OK for 5'th wheel but not travel trailers? Don't see the difference and both have the same issues with bouncing.

@Frank a fifth wheel will bounce less because it attaches to the tow vehicle above the rear axle whereas a travel trailer is at the rear of the truck where the bumps are more exaggerated and therefore transfers more to the trailer. Another option might be a front hitch on the truck with a better priced e-bike?
