Can The Hughes Watchdog 50 amp Work With a Generator

Question:

Would the Hughes watchdog 50 amp be something I could use coming from a generator or is it only good for 120V?

The short answer is yes, the Power Watchdog # HU74ZR can work with a generator, BUT it depends on the type of generator you have.

Some generators have a “floating neutral,” which can make surge protectors think there’s a wiring problem. If that’s the case, you may just need a simple neutral bonding plug for it to work correctly.

The generator is a Duromax 15,000HX.

@ZachK Thanks for getting back to me, Zach. I was able to find the instructions for your generator and it does list it as a bonded neutral so you wont need anything in addition for the it to work with the Hughes Watchdog part # HU74ZR. Both the power center and you generator will have step by step instructions when hooking up that you will want to follow. Hope this helps answer your question.
