2022 GMC Sierra 3500 Factory Brake Controller Does Not Work with Dexter EOH Actuator

Question:

I see there is a long history with the Dexter EOH not being compatible with GMC factory brake controller. Im having the same issue with my 2022 GMC 3500. I contacted Dexter and installed the relay they said would fix it. It didnt.... Any advice you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Very frustrated. Thank you.

I have a few different options for you but the issue with using an electric over hydraulic actuator and factory trailer brake controller together are not particular to any one brand whether that be the actuator brand or brake controller brand, they just don't work well together in most cases. The Hydrastar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator Adapter Module part # HBA-CAM is an adapter you can install in-line on the trailer to fix the issue or you could go with the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180 which will bypass the factory signal with no splicing.
