Ground Clearance Measurement on etrailer Hitch for 2025 Genesis GV80

Updated 12/03/2025 | Published 11/05/2025

Question:

I have a 2025 Genesis GV80. With the e65KR installed, what is the distance from the ground to the bottom of the hitch where the chain attaches? Basically, Im looking for the minimum ground clearance. I am trying to figure out if the clearance is more with this trailer hitch or the Curt model, C84UR, for this same vehicle.

Hey Russ! The bad news is it looks like we didn't grab that measurement when we installed the # e65KR on the 2025 Genesis GV80. The good news is, I can still answer your question. The Curt # C84UR actually shares the same design as our own etrailer hitch. This means it will have the same 8-1/2" ground measurement as the Curt.

The only real difference between the two is the finish. The Curt has the glossy finish, our hitch has the matte black which I prefer. If that isn't a major concern to you I would choose whichever has the lower cost at the time.

What will you be using the hitch for?

Hey Russ, how did things turn out comparing the ground clearance between the etrailer and Curt hitches on your GV80? Your feedback could help others trying to decide between the two finishes.

@RobinH I appreciate your complete response ! The 8.5" ground clearance for the Curt and e-trailer hitches concerns me because I have a fairly steep driveway. I see there is also a Draw-Tite model 76513 that isn't available until January but it appears that it may offer better ground clearance. Do you have any information regarding this ground clearance dimension and if installation requires cutting or trimming fascia? Thanks in advance

@Russ unfortunately, we don't have that measurement on the # DT49GR. The manufacturers almost never have those measurements it so it is up to us to grab it when we install one. Since we haven't been able to install it yet we haven't been able to measure. It doesn't look like trimming is required, you can see the installation instructions attached below.
