Question:

Im considering buying a Genesis GV80 suv. I see that there is a hitch available but I need a 5 pin electrical connection since I tow a boat trailer with a reverse circuit. Any idea when you might have the wiring harness for that? Thanks

The 2021 Genesis GV80 may already have a 4 pin trailer adapter installed from the dealer and you can convert it to a 5-pin.

If it does not have a 4 pin already, then you will need to install the Curt Tail Light Converter 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C59236. This will splice into the taillight wiring on your vehicle, and there will be a few more wires to run (power and ground wires). I have attached a demonstration video for this kit.

Once you have a 4-pin installed, you will need a 4 pin to 5 pin adapter; I recommend Tow Ready 4 Pole to 5 Pole Trailer Wiring Adapter # 20036. This is a very simple adapter to install. It will plug directly into the 4 pin connector, then you will have one wire to connect to your reverse light wiring on your vehicle. I have attached a video for this as well.
