Does 50A Voltage Booster From Watchdog Protect RV When Plugged Into 30A Site With Adapter?

Question:
Does the HU74ZR 50 amp booster still protect my RV if I’m only plugged into a 30 amp site with an adapter?

Laura, yes, the # HU74ZR will still give you surge protection and monitoring when stepped down to a 30A pedestal, but keep in mind the boosting function won’t give you more amps than the pedestal supplies. You’ll be limited to 30A total. What it does do is keep the voltage stable on that single leg, which is important if you’re running A/C and other applicances on a hot day and pushing close to the 30A max. It will still function the same way, meaning it will still boost voltage if it drops lower than it should.
Have you had many trips where 30A sites were your only option?
