Looking for Replacement Leaf Springs for 2018 Keystone Cougar 29RKS

Hi , I have a Keystone cougar 2018, 29 RKS- 4leaf- springs under it have not pulled one off to measure them up, but I have bottoming out problems where the tire is hitting the underside of the camper. Wanna go with a little beefier spring or at least good quality new ones and start fresh. Do you know what springs this has under it? the length and arch etc. And what would you suggest I put under it to help my issue. Thanks, Mike.

Hey Mike, to pick out the correct replacement leaf springs for your Keystone Cougar 29RKS we need to know the axle capacity of the trailer as well as the length of your current springs. With just that info we would be able to help. I believe your camper has 5,200 lb axles but you would need to verify this for me.

@JamesonC hey there I will crawl under it and see if I can see a tag with axle capacity, this is a project I need to get going on. Do I need to pull the leaf spring off to measure it up or can I measure eye to eye on the camper? Or would I measure along the curvature of the spring and try to get an eye eye measurement that way? What is the correct way to measure these up. Thanks Mike.

@MikeS The most ideal way to measure is with the spring removed from the trailer BUT that's not the most reasonable way to approach it so instead jack up the frame of the trailer until the spring no longer has the trailer weight on it and measure it like that. All we need is from one spring eye to the other.

It's not uncommon for new trailer leaf springs to measure shorter than the old leaf springs they are replacing. The reason for this is that leaf springs stretch as they age. Therefore, I do think the 26" long leaf spring options we offer…
