Question:

I have a westin hdx 1 piece grille guard for a toyota tundra that I recently inquired. My truck is a 2012 the hardware that came with it is for 2014 up. It works but wont allow my hood to close its off about 1.5inch to 2 inch off

Hey Desmond. The Westin HDX Grille Guard with Punch Plate item # 57-2235 is the only HDX 1-piece grille guard I have for a 2012 Toyota Tundra. It comes with and uses the Replacement Mounting Hardware for Westin HDX Grille Guard -New Style 57-2230 and 57-2235 item # 57-223PK to install. This hardware is custom fit for a 2012 Tundra and the HDX Grille Guard that comes with the item # 57-2235 kit.

I have linked the installation instructions below. The item # 57-2235 does not fit the 2014 Tundra so I do not know what grille guard you have or how to make it fit a 2012.

Where did you get your grille guard?

The only kind of number I found on the grille was 86059? If that could help

@DesmondH Thanks for the information. I was not able to find any information on a pn 86059 for a 2012 Tundra. Westin's part number and ours for the grille guard that fits your truck is item # 57-2235. I do not know what grille guard you have or how to make it fit a 2012 Toyota Tundra. I do know that the 2014 Tundra is a different generation so it's not surprising that you're having issues trying to make it fit your 2012 truck.
