Question:
Looking at brake controllers for my 2025 Bronco Sport. Controller models indicate Bronco compatible plug/play connectors that attach under dash But then they indicate a 7-pin kit is needed at adapt my dealer installed tow package 4-pin at hitch. Im unclear why I need such a kit if the controllers are pre-fit under the dash. I do already have a working 4/7 pin adapter. Please explain. Thanks in advance.

Hi Dave; when you say you have a 4/7 pin adapter are you saying you have a functional 7-way connector? Do you have the factory port for a brake controller under the dash? You were looking at parts for the 2025 Ford Bronco, not the Bronco Sport, and there are differences between the two.
The # TK48HR you ordered comes with a wiring harness that will fit the factory connector on a 2025 Bronco with the tow package. If you don't have that connector the custom wiring harness won't work and you will have to splice in for installation. If you have a 7-way already the brake output wire will be there to install the brake controller.
You also ordered the # ETBC7L, which is designed to add a 7-way to vehicles using a brake controller like the Curt Echo # C51180. This is specifically for brake controllers that install at the rear of the vehicle or on the trailer. If you're trying to add a 7-way for the POD you need the # ETBC7 which includes the brake output wire.
I would also highly encourage you to go with a proportional brake controller over the POD. The POD is time delayed, which is an old technology. A proportional brake controller like the Voyager # 39510 or the P3 # 90195 you looked at will apply the brakes based on the deceleration of your vehicle which will give you better braking and a better towing experience.

Hi Dave, did you find out if you have the factory port for a brake controller under the dash of your Bronco Sport? I'm curious if the wiring harness you ordered worked out for you, as it could help others with similar setups.
