Question:
How often does it need maintenance? I don’t want something that’s a headache every season.

Expert Reply:
Tony, maintenance is pretty light for the Velit RV Heaters like gasoline model # VE46QV and diesel model # VE66QV.
The manual says to:
-Run it once a month for 15 minutes, even off-season, to keep the pump and motor happy.
-Replace the fuel filter every 2 years.
-Inspect intake/exhaust for debris regularly.
-After about 10 years, replace the heat exchanger, exhaust pipe, and sensor.
If you keep it clean and give it that monthly run, you’ll avoid most potential issues. Are you planning to DIY install, or have a shop set it up for you?
